Glen married Anne Montgomery, also a family physician, on Lake Pend d'Oreille, Idaho. | Born, raised, and educated in Washington, I'm a proud native of the Pacific Northwest. The oldest of four children, I was raised in a small town south of Seattle that later became part of the urban sprawl between Seattle and Tacoma. Neither of my parents went to college. Our family respected and admired but avoided physicians; as a result I didn’t experience a role model physician in my childhood. My interest in medicine as a career was ignited by one of those special and gifted high school teachers we all have in our lives. She identified and encouraged in me the aptitude for science and the passion to serve others that so well suits a career in medicine. The summer after my high school graduation, my church youth group went to the rural Kenai |
| Following residency, I joined two other family physicians in Cashmere, WA, population 2700. Practicing rural medicine 12 miles from the nearest hospital and having a busy OB practice allowed me to do and learn a great deal. Many factors led me to relocate to Spokane after six years in Cashmere. I missed the community but enjoyed the new challenges in a primary care satellite of a physician-owned multi-specialty clinic. The Rockwood Clinic is the only large multi-specialty clinic in Spokane. The group has provided me many leadership and learning opportunities and Spokane has been a wonderful home for Anne, Graham, Ian, and me. |
Glen, Anne and sons Graham and Ian enjoyed a rafting adventure in the Grand Canyon in 2006. |
